Heiner Leith
Ph.D. |
Dr. Lieth is a UC Davis emeritus professor of Environmental Horticulture focusing on nurseries, greenhouses and indoor plant production. He is also Cooperative Extension specialist serving commercial growers and advisors with relevant information. His research includes the ecophysiology of cultivated crops especially related to growth and development in relation to irrigation, fertilization, CO2 and light management. One facet of his research is on development of crop models that quantity these relationships and make it possible to develop decisions support tools for growers.

Bruce Kimball
|
Working for the USDA, Agricultural Research Service for all of his professional career, Dr. Kimball has used greenhouses, open-top chambers, and free-air CO2 enrichment to study the effects of elevated CO2 concentrations on plant growth, yield, and water relations. His research has encompassed measurement of canopy microclimates, energy balance, and water use. Dr. Kimball has published over 300 papers in his career, and he is a Fellow of both the American Society of Agronomy and the Soil Science Society of America. Dr. Kimball enjoys hiking, biking, photography, and grand-parenting at his home in Arizona.

James Bunce
|
Dr. Bunce is a physiological ecologist who, working for the USDA, has studied plant response to elevated CO2 in a variety of crops, including soybeans, cotton, wheat, beans, corn and rice. His published papers have documented both the effects and the underlying mechanisms associated with plants’ responses to CO2 enrichment. Dr. Bunce is a member of the American Society of Plant Biologists, Ecological Society of America, American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Crop Science Society of America. He rows competitively six days a week with the Annapolis Rowing Club.
